What moulded Emie is her simple and happy childhood. “Be yourself” is the phrase she has heard the most while growing up, and it was not until she started facing the world on her own that Emie realised that the encouragement to be original is not a norm but a privilege.

Following that she has strived to be herself in her thoughts, words and deeds – this helped her see others as themselves and pay attention to their stories without judging them. This interest of her, to look for stories in the nooks and corners of life has made Emie a passionate storyteller.

Of Indian descent and currently settled in Sydney, she endeavours to take the best of both these worlds in and you will see these as the warp and weft of her work.
